The Sleep Wellness Institute, Inc., offers full sleep disorders services in a second location, the former Columbia St. Mary's sleep disorders center at 11725 N. Port Washington Rd., Mequon. This location is in the Lakeside Commons building, directly west of the North Shore Cinema theater complex.
The Institute has 12 sleep study rooms at its headquarters location in West Allis, and a 2 bed sleep lab in Mequon, which is expected to expand in the near future.
"Our new location in Mequon is a response to requests from physicians to make our services more convenient for patients in Greater Milwaukee’s north shore and upper east side areas, as well as further north," said Ron Baake, owner and chief executive officer of The Sleep Wellness Institute. Like the Sleep Wellness Institute in West Allis, the facility in Mequon is designed to offer patients a comfortable, home-like setting, he said.
The Mequon sleep lab may be reached by calling 414-336-3000.
Baake noted that The Sleep Wellness Institute is now looking for a north shore location to open one of its CPAP2GO stores, which specialize in providing a wide range of treatment equipment and supplies for patients with obstructive sleep apnea, a dangerous but treatable sleep disorder that affects more than 18 million Americans. The new store is expected to open by fall of 2011.
The Sleep Wellness Institute is accredited to diagnose and treat both adults and children with sleep disorders by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. It was named one of America’s Top 3 sleep disorders centers in 2007 by ADVANCE for Sleep Magazine, is a three-time winner of the Future Fifty Award presented by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, and was named a “Top Workplace” in 2010 by The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
